In various reports, it has been envisaged that important key drivers are online learning, hybrid learning and collaborative models as institutions all over the globe are facing financial resource crunch. As Internet has emerged as an important medium of learning and exchanging new information, emergence of virtual schools is considered as solution to the problems which are presently being faced by education system. Virtual Schools are beneficial in personalized, tailor content suited to individual learning with flexibility on anywhere any time access; student can enrich their skills in learning a new subject or take up course or class normally not available at their schools, low costs that saves on permanent infrastructure cost, access to high quality education and access to quality teachers and peers, increases collaboration. All open schools through its body-National Consortium for Open Schooling-will strive for the benefit for using learning resources for promoting open schooling system in India.
